Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz Island, Galapagos, Ecuador, sep 15 - sep 22, 2012

Our lovely bed and breakfast Semilla Verde was located outside of the main town Puerto Ayora on the island of Santa Cruz. We used the B&B as our base to explore the wildlife of the Galapagos Islands on day trips. The day of our arrival we visited the Darwin Research Station and got a taste of what we would see in the upcoming week. The nearby and idilic Tortuga Beach is, as the name suggests, a nesting site for sea turtles and offers a great opportunity to observe hundreds of Galapagos Marine Iguanas! The town itself is nothing special, but it's unbelievably clean for a South American town and offers plenty of opportunities to shop and dine.
