Guayaquil, Ecuador, sep 14 - 15 and sep 22 - 23, 2012

Our fist stop in Ecuador was the city of Guayaquil. We only had two half-days to explore the city. It does not have a lot of touristy things to do or see, but the waterfront with its walking promenade and the parque BolĂvar with its unusual, free roaming inhabitants of green iguanas kept us busy. The modern and impressive airport was the gateway for us to the amazing Galapagos Islands around 1000 km off the Ecuadorian coast in the Pacific Ocean.
