Nyaungshwe (Inle Lake), Myanmar, feb 11 – feb 13, 2011

This beautiful and picturesque lake is one of the top tourist destinations in Myanmar. We hired a small longtail boat and visited temples, a floating market, workshops (paper making, silver smith, silk and lotus plant fibre weaving, cigar makers) and the absolutely sweet Burmese cats at the Inthar Heritage House. Just being on the beautiful lake, boating between lovely stilt houses, watching locals do their chores and fishermen working and paddling their boats with a unique technique using their leg was fascinating.
