Tiruvannamalai, India, jan 03, 2011

My father told me about the famous guru Ramana Maharshi and his way of living and philosophy. As a teenager the guru started his pilgrimage to Mt. Arunchala where he spent most of his life. Tiruvannamalai was in reach for a day trip from Puducherry and as my father put it: "If I can't make it to this holy site, at least I can say my son did." :) It was fascinating to visit the caves he lived in and experience the peaceful atmosphere above the hectic and typical Indian city of Tiruvannamalai. Even the monkeys up there seemed to be more chill then everywhere else I've encountered them before.
