Dazhai, China, oct 15 - oct 18, 2011

We spent three wonderful days in Dazhai. While hiking in these truly amazing landscapes you can't help it but just be in awe at the countless rice terraces. Dazhai is a small, laid back village in the middle of the Dragons Backbone rice terraces. The local people, a Yao community, are all very friendly and are always up for a small chat. We enjoyed the quiteness without mass tourism (honking tour buses) and we really hope this region can maintain the fine balance between local life and tourism.
